PESHAWAR: At least a dozen people have been injured by a wild animal’s attacks in different villages of Lakki Marwat of Khber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a private news channel, ten injured persons were brought to Lakki Marwat Hospital while three critically injured were admitted to Bannu Hospital.
Locals had expressed concerns over the attacks and urged the authorities to take remedial measures. The Elite Police personnel and sharp shooters were reportedly in the area to kill the wild animal.
District Police Officer (DPO) Khalid Hamdani said the animal had attacked people with jaws and claws in Wanda Rehmana, Wanda Katana and Land Ahmedkhel villages during night.
According to former District Health Officer – Dr Iqbal Marwat – it was not a rabid dog and some people who had seen it said it looked like a hyena. As a matter of precaution, rabies vaccine had been given to the affected people.
