KARACHI: The man named Rizwan arrested on Wednesday had confessed to killing Abdullah’s mother Aleena, police said.
A man named Rizwan who allegedly killed Abdullah’ mother in cold blood was apprehended by the Karachi police yesterday. Deputy Inspector General South had asked to present him in the court at the earliest.
Abdullah was found stranded on Sea View on the night of May 31 and was brought to Edhi Centre by a man named Faizan. A man named Omar also approached Edhi Center and claimed to be the child’s maternal uncle but the orphanage administration refused to hand over the child. Later it was discovered that Abdullah’s mother is dead but his step-father is alive. On Sunday, his father Chaudhry Iqbal and step-brother Ansar Iqbal reached Edhi centre but apparently the boy had still not been handed over to them. Bilquis Edhi said that they don’t seem serious in taking Abdullah with them.
