LAHORE: Imposition of section 144 in Punjab has been challenged by Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) in Lahore High Court (LHC) .
Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly, Mehmood -Ur -Rasheed filed petition through Advocate Shiraz Zaka challenging imposition of section 144 in Punjab province. .
The petitioner took the plea that imposition of section 144 in Punjab is totally un constitutional. . PTI is not damaging any governmental property. Section 144 is imposed only where there is threat to public peace.
It was said in the petition that imposition of section 144 is the violation of Article 14, 15 and 16 of constitution.
He prayed the court to declare imposition of section 144 in Punjab unconstitutional besides declaring null and void the notification issued by home secretary for imposition of section 144.
